Preview: In Week 9, the Hitters look to punch their ticket to the IHSA playoffs as they wrap up the regular season against the Proviso West Panthers. The Panthers have weathered plenty of adversity in the WSC over the last several seasons, most notably seeing their roster size decline from 110 players three years ago to a lean group numbering in the 40s. However, this depth challenge has given several returning players significant varsity experience that cannot be underestimated. The Hitters have historically dominated the matchup, owning an 18-0 series lead since 2007, capped by a commanding 49-0 victory late last season.
