Last September, the Hitters beat DGN 35-21 at home, but the Trojans got the ultimate revenge by knocking the Hitters out in Round 2 of the playoffs en route to a 7A semifinal run. Though the Hitters held a 17-0 advantage in the series since 2008, DGN has taken three of the last four matchups. To reverse the recent trend, the Hitters' veteran secondary—led by senior defensive backs Bryce Ellens, Jaylen McMiller, and MJ Wargin—will need to neutralize DGN’s star senior quarterback and Minnesota commit, Owen Lansu, who operates behind a massive, experienced offensive line.
